The Advertising Speciality Institute, also known as ASI, specializes in the promotional product industry and streamlining the production process from the manufacturer to the consumer.
While designing for and assisting my department, I also balanced designing and coding a web page to display the company’s DEI statistics and collaborating with the intern team in developing a sustainability program for the company.
Below are some of the fun projects I got to work on during my time at the Advertising Specialty Institute.
Diversity Infographic Webpage
Web Design
Coding
In the first month of my internship, I was tasked with designing and developing a webpage that would display the company’s demographics in animated infographic form. Three main sections displaying the statistics, with two displaying animations that would activate when scrolled.
On top of designing the overall look and feel of the page, I also had to code the site and animations using html and css, ensuring that feasibility was forefront during the design process.

Section 1
The first section of the page required the ASI DEI logo, a note about an international, and three numbers summarizing the . I had free reign in layout, color, and any additional pieces of information.
Section 2
The most difficult part of this project was finding visually efficient graphics that would also be feasible to code. I drafted multiple versions for the final two sections.

ASI Compost Initiative
Logo Design
Branding
Throughout my internship, I was grouped with five other interns at ASI to propose a sustainability initiative to the company. After observing the popular gardening club and garden at the ASI tech park, our team decided that one of the most feasible and impactful projects the company could take on would be a composting initiative.
As interns, we all represented different departments. Thus, while some interns focused on outreach, promotion, and finances, I was responsible for developing the visual components for the initiative.
I designed various logo options for our group's initiative using the original ASI logo. And because ASI is a company focused on the production of promotional materials, I produced mockups of merchandise the initiative would produce to incentivize participation by ASI’s employees.

Norman Cohn Themed Stickers

After expressing to my supervisor my passion for illustration, he developed a project in which I would develop a series of illustrations celebrating work of ASI’s CEO and founder, Norman Cohn. The illustrations were then compiled onto a sticker sheet and printed out to be distributed among ASI members at the annual Summer ASI Show. Each sticker holds a personal memory related to Norman Cohn, which increased its enjoyability!
